Hey guys I really need a new MP3 cause my Ipod mini (old) now takes only 1 hour to charge and lasts for 2 hours....

So yeh i need a new one but whats the best one....
I need...

- At least 4gb memory space
- Decent barrery time
- Good screen to view music. (like Ipod)
- below £150
- and i would prefer it not to be an Ipod but if new nano's really good then maybe.

I was looking at this samsung one with a built in speaker! Which looks pritty good. But i dunno...

NEVER GET A SONY!
You always have to use their media sync, and it sucks, no exceptions
The sony walkman I had lasted 7 months

But Creative (the zen series I think) are awesome My old one lasted 3.5 years
But I have herd that the sandisc sansa is really good
And Most the stuff Iriver puts out is decent

Yeah, i've been looking at mp3 players to, with similar specs.

I dont trust creative after my zen micro was the biggest pile of crap ever. I think that iriver and apple are your best bet, after all the new ipod classic is 80gb for about £150.

I just got an 30GB ipod classic yesterday for £140
I'm quite pleased with it.

I have a Sandisk Sansa e280 (or summat). Its about £110, 8gb flash, but you can get smaller memory one for cheaper. It plays videos, has decent battery life, and it plays them DRM wmas.

I got it cos it got the best review in some computer magazine my dad gets and its good.

Then I guess I'm an exception

I've had mine for years, no problems with it. Although it's only 512Mb of space, which was a fair bit when I got it, but is obviously tiny now.

I got a Sansa e260r for $130 US, and a 2 year warranty (this includes battery and screen replacements) for $20

4 gigs memory, and a bit larger screen than the ipod nano.

Go with iRiver. I haven't met a single MP3-player that could compete with the (discontinued) H300 series. It was capable of playing videos when iPods still had a black and white LCD... Their recent products are at least that good from what I've heard.

The normal iPod Nano's without video playback are good, reliable, but if you want one with great value for money,Creative Zen,my uncle has one, mucis quality and Video qulity are both second to none when it comes to MP4 players.

I have a Zen. It's super fat but it's way cheaper than an ipod and the screen is colored and you can record stuff and the quality is pretty good for an mp3 player

I would agree with this. I have a sony walkman and its fantastic, but the software that comes with it is so terrible I have to resort to using a plug-in for Winamp which prompts me to re-create the entire database everytime I want to add new music. Fuckin' pain in the ass.

ok the Samsung YP-K5 looks really good. Got a built in speaker. 4Gb, 34 hours battery.

Anyone got this?

Ipods dont play mp3s, they play bastard ACCs or whatever, so I have to use itunes to put songs onto them, which is sooo annoying. I prefered using wma...

my experience is completely the opposite.

my sony walkman worked perfectly for about 3 years until I left it in my pocket when i put my jacket in the wash.

and my little brother went through 4 creative zen micros in 3 months because they all kept freezing on him and then not turning on at all.

the sony's software was bad but now it uses sonicstage CP version instead of the Connect player software that comes with it because sony have withdrawn support for the connect player software (they've realised it was crap too) and this new software isn't bad (IMO).

No, they do play mp3s, but you still have to use itunes to put them on.
