i have this old mexican strat im planning on building up, but ive heard that leaving strings off your guitar can warp your neck because they are designed and used to having tension on them from the strings, so if i remove my neck off my guitar to do the finish on the body, is it safe to leave the neck off for a while while i do the body?

no, i had my old strat neck off for about 3 months until i put it back together and sold it, it was fine. of course i kept in the same tempature room the whole time, so make sure it's inside your house the whole time, not outside lol
