I'm gonna register an account on PayPal, but before I do, I need to know a few things.

1.) Can you transfer a select amount of cash from a bank account to Paypal? Let's say my debit card for example.

2.) Can you transfer money from a credit card?

3.) How long do these transactions take?

4.) Is it safe?

I'm planning on ordering a guitar, but it's over my credit card limit, so I might have to use the money in my bank account, so I was wondering about this.

1) no, but you can "use" the bank account's money and pay for ur guitar.

2) no.

3) well, no.

4) I say it isn't. nothing is safe over the internet. i have a prepaid reloadable visa card linked to my paypal, which does not let anybody use more money then i have on my card. i won't be losing too much money if somebody steals my money.

but most people think its safe. i don't have a bank acount, but if u have a lot of money on ur bank acount, be careful.

Well, the guitar I'm planning on buy is about $600, and $678 with shipping.

Are you sure? I'm almost certain you can transfer money from the credit card?

1.) Yes, but it can take up to 2 weeks to link your bank account to paypal.

2.) Yes

3.) Debit can take up to 5 days, credit will work immediately.

4.) I've had no troubles with it.

oh. those. eh. i'll stick with my method. i don't want to connect a bank account to paypal. ever. that means if somebody gets ur password, they can get all ur money from ur bank account, then put it on ur paypal account, then spend it for themselves.

i use paypal as a way to receive money, and hide my credit card number when i purchase things online.

I don't think they can get your password, or your money. The banks (or mine does) do monitor your transactions, and verify each one with you by phone. It should be safe... Somewhat.
