I don't think it plays wma's, but it doesn't matter, because as soon as you try to play them with iTunes it automatically converts it to MP3.

Yes 160 gigs for music is excessive. So is the price of any iProduct. Just go get another mp3.

that could be quite fun, but you can use the ipod as hard drive space, which is what i do

Decent meaning large?

I'd rather have a small amount of quality music, than vast amounts of turd on my hard drive.

I suppose if all of your songs are of a really high quality, then it is believable.

160 gb isnt that much if you use it for videos and music, not to mention if your music is in a lossless format. As for ipods in general, they are pretty good, but theyre not the only media players out there. You might want to look into Creative players as well.

Isn't a new Nano $200 for about 8Gb and a personal engraving on the back? Thats pretty ****ing good for what you pay.

I have 7000 m4a's on my 30g and its not full yet... I would consider that a decent sized music collection.
#21
My entire music collection is on my ipod. It's only about 20 gigs, and I just got a new ipod classic 80 gig. I haven't put videos on there yet, but seriously, you won't need 160 gigs unless you put on all your music, your families and all of the families on your street. If you're gonna be using an ipod for videos mainly, then yeah, get the 160 I suppose. If you're just casual, then save yourself $100 and get the 80 gb.
#22
sorry for my spelling mistakes didn't know i had to be so grammatically correct was only a quick question, thanks to all the people who have responded with some tact. I like the idea of the memory which is the main selling point for me i have to store a lot of music and files for my work including high quality audio. i really wanted to know about its reliability and ease of use to be honest and is it "Any Good" as and all round player.
Many Thanks Carl.
#23
Well i don't know about that ipod specifically, but i have the video 30g, and the only problem i've ever had is that the sleep function doesn't always want to work right away (hold pause and its supposed to turn off, but mine doesn't sometimes, slight annoyance). Never had reliability issues.

Its quite easy to use, unrivaled storage capacity on iPods, and good for a flash drive (stored almost every file i had on my old computer when I got a new one).

Should be great for what you need.

not if you put DVD's on it or use it as a external hard drive

Seriously, Ipods are better media players than Zunes or Creative Labs players. I have two friends with each, the Zune's screen got destroyed in two weeks, and the Creative Labs player is just frusturating.

Creative are great, everything runs from a normal file system, I think there just easier than Ipods. And a **** load cheaper.

Go to your staff paper and re-write this song a half step down so on the paper it'll be like you have a "C" just move it down to a "B#"

Too bad Creative doesn't have a Vision: M at 80GB and it seem you can't get their 60GB right now either. Other than GB, yeah, Creative is better than an ipod.

The main problem with all mp3's, but most of all iPods, is that you have this ridiculous 100+ GB of music but only have the battery to listen to 1GB of it...

I have the same problem, isn't that big of a deal though.

I can't evenf ill up my 30GB, but 160GB? Holy ****. A guy in my dad's band has two 80GB iPods, one full, the other almost full, so I guess it's possible.

I love my Zen and stuff, but I'd kill for it to use batteries like my old 1 gig. No charging and if it runs out of battery when I'm no where near a computer, I can just change the battery.
