Depends how big it is. Usually insects just get blown in the wind and float safely to the ground or a tree.

I realize a spider is an arachnoid.
#9
i hope so but somehow doubt it. i suppose it depends on how much it weighs and whether this weight will be able to get enough speed from the drop to damage the exoskeleton

spiders always land on their feet

feet?. ive never seen a spider paint its toenails!
#13
The chances are it will be ok, a spider being a very light creature reaches it's maximum velocity at a very low speed, it wouldn't be a huge amount of difference from dropping it off your hand. Also if there's a heavy wind it will be blown with it, landing safely.

Throw yourself out a two story window and see if you die.

Spiders are unlikely to have a high enough terminal velocity for a fall to kill them, but thats no excuse to do it.

A spider wouldn't reach a terminal velocity from two stories, even if it fell straight down.

Regardless, for it's body size, I imagine it would hurt it fairly bad if it did fall straight down.
mmmk.

What? You do know what a terminal velocity is right?

Because spiders are so light they would reach terminal velocity quickly.

Am I the only one who thought he was talking about the amp?

I did, too.

Maybe if you tie some weights down to the spider or something.

Wait, I just realized

Why the **** are you asking this question?

I highly doubt dropping a spider from a window would be the optimal execution
