Guess what I got for my 17th brithday the 15th?

Alnico IV version, four conductor wiring.

Yeah after long and hard work me and my dad have installed them and tried them not to long ago.

How do they sound (tried through Amplitube 2 only, not through my Rocker):
Compared to my old pickup (Gibson 490R and Swineshead Runaway) I find these to be "clearer" and cleaner in tone (because of the lower output). They have quite a balanced tone, without getting to raunchy, but have nice fat mids and A LOT of twang for a humbucker (think that "twangy" PAF sound, listen to the song High Water Everywhere by Joe Bonamassa nad you will get EXACTLY what I mean). So how Do I like them? I love them. Best pickups I have ever played. While the Swineshead was great, I find these much clearer and well suited for me and worth EVERY bit of the money. Oh and how do they sound splitted? Great! Because they are quite twangy the single coil sounds close to exact to my Strat. The bridge is very twangy, somewhere between a Strat and a Tele, the middle position is JUST like the mid/ bridge on a Strat (perfect for funk) and the neck is VERY SRV- esque. Can't wait to try them on the Rocker tomorrow and on band practice on Friday.

All in all I love my new Bareknuckles!

happy bday

you say they're splittable? my sister's guitar has coil splitting, but in humbucker mode it just isn't "hot" enough, not particularly saying it's not high enough output, it's just not very clear and defined.

Yea I know, Gibson stopped using dots longs before making mine (and it's genuine, the owner before me bought it in a shop used), the serial checks and it has genuine Gibson parts (including the original pots, pickups and so on).

Will make more clips tomorrow.

Since I'm using line out, it's not exactly the same sound as the Red Fang, though I've found one that sounds very close. I have also added a compressor just to even out things on Whole Lotta Love.
