Very cool, but I don't consider him the best.

There are all of those fantastic 9 string and 12 string, etc. bass player that do very similar work, and it sounds better, too.

Not to mention the Chapman Stich, which is also similar to that playing style.

It's great, but I could find better.

I was expecting something amazing, the likes of which I had never witnessed before.

Dissapointing.

There's no doubt that the guy is really skilled and it's a good song, but if you consider this guy the best you've been listening to Nirvana too much.

Mastering your instrument is being able to play whatever you hear in your head, unhindered by inadequate technique. After that, it's all about what you've got to say, so there would be no "best," just a bunch of people saying exactly what they mean.

If you have a power metal liking... like Iron Maiden... I think you would like Angra. 'Heroes of Sand' and Kiko-- the guitarist-- has a song called 'Tapping Into My Dark Tranquility.' Both feature this crafty hand feat.

Exactly.

I had never heard of that style of bass and playing until about a year ago, and it blew me away.

The really soft, melodic work they can do is amazing, as well.

I have seen a guy play Paganini's 5th Caprice two handed style.... so I'm not impressed.
