Any suggestions for new artists?

Steve Vai - For The Love Of God, Bad Horsie, Eugene's Trick Bag, Tender Surrender
Aerosmith - Dream On, Walk This Way, Love In An Elevator, Sweet Emotion, Last Child
Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name Of is the only song I've heard.
Cream - Sunshine Of Your Love, Crossroads, White Room, Tales Of Brave Ulysses

I wouldn't recommend Dashboard Confessional. I find their songs to be annoying, and you won't like it if you don't like emo. Also, Death Cab is more ambient. You'd probably have more success listening to it while you unwind, getting ready for bed, etc. instead of just listening to it.

Damn, I'm loving Children of Bodom. Nice use of guitar and keyboard. The vocals could be better, but I've heard worse.

Like some of the Steve Vai stuff, Bad Horsie I really liked, but For the Love of God I didn't enjoy that much.

Anyways, onto Cream
The Pit. The Movie.

For Aerosmith, I recommend Mama Kin. It's a nifty little song.

For Cream, I recommend White Room and Badge.

Additional bands I recommend: Dire Straits (Sultans of Swing, Romeo & Juliet, Money For Nothing), Muse (Time is Running Out, Feelin' Good), and Blue Oyster Cult (Don't Fear The Reaper, Cities on Flame with Rock And Roll, Dance On Stilts)

You certainly have a diverse taste in music, I'll give you that. I listen to a few of those artists but I'll just give you suggestions for the one I know and enjoy the most.

Sunny Day Real Estate
-Pillars
-Seven
-Song About an Angel
-In Circles
-The Blankets Were the Stairs

Be sure to avoid the albums "How's It Feel to Be Something On" and "The Rising Tide" as both of those were pretty much crap.

Children of Bodom - Definitely check out Needled 24/7

Bullet for my Valentine - OMG where do I start...

Tears Don't Fall for sure. then all of "The Poison" album listen to the album in order, waaay better. The way Intro goes in to Her Voice Resides(recommended) is unbelieveable. the 4 Words (To Choke Upon)(Recommended)
Tears, you know about that
Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow (recommended)
Hit the Floor(recommended)
All These Things I Hate (Recommended, a little softer)
Room 409 (recommended, heavy like a sumo wrestler)
The Poison (recommended, amazing song, well mastered)
10 Years Today (eh, only recommended if you wanna be sad)
Cries In Vain (recommended, great bass)
Spit You Out (recommended amazing pump up song)
The End (soo recommeded, epic and a half)

Not on The Poison the I highly recommend:
Hand of Blood
Just Another Star
Seven Days
Turn to Despair(pretty heavy, and this is coming from me, Nile/Behemoth guy)
Curses (damn epic as well)
No Control (another great pump up song)

It would have been quicker to list the songs I don't recommend (My Fist, Your Mouth, Her Scars, it's a dumb song, i don't like it, but you might, and all their cover songs: Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Crazy Train, Domination (which is actually pretty good, I recommend it) and Creeping Death which is also good, another recommend.

so basically, 4 songs I don't recommend, and about 20 that I do. I like them a lot...

I suggest (for your new list):

Bad Brains
Sonic Youth
Velvet Underground (NOT REVOLVER)
Television
Radiohead
Depeche Mode
The Cure
Jefferson Airplane

Those are the easiest to get into in my opinion.
