Windows Media Player 11 skips towards the end of every song, always at the same point in the song, about 7/8th of the way through.

I've had my computer since april, and its always happened.

Can anyone help?

That's strange. One of the files might have been corrupted during installation. Did you check to see if there was an update within version 11?

If the update manager cannot find an update, try to find the most recently released drivers and .dll files for WMP and replace those with the current ones.

Or you can reinstall, as suggested above.

I've had only one problem with vista and that was a faulty video card driver.

other than that Vista has shown none of the problems that people moan about.

just download the WMP11 installer and reinstall it.

I tried uninstalling WMP but that didn't actually do anything and i cannay delete the folder either. I tried using the setup file in the WMP directory but aparently it is a previous version so it cannay use it. I will try downloading anew...

EDIT: I can only find a download for WMP "for windows XP" but nevertheless... I'll give it a try...

EDIT2: bad news, that too is apparently an "older" version of WMP so can't install. Bastards, I'll just have to go back to ignoring the jumps I guess.

uninstall (seeing as its vista it won't 'roll back' but the EU declared it should be uninstallable) it then try and install the older version.

I can see a couple of problems here. Firstly, Vista sucks. Wait until service packs are released.
Secondly, WMP sucks, Winamp is so much better.

Yes, I don't particularly like Microsoft.
