Hey guys, I've got a band together at uni, but the drummer's only got an electric drum kit, what can he do?

Can he connect it to some kind of amp, any kind of amp? Or does it have to be a PA?

keyboard or microphone amp would work. but then you may as well buy a p.a

^ yes a bass amp would handle it too, but you'd want something that isn't intended to colour tone at all

A PA would be best, but my band has used a bass amp as backup, I wouldn't suggest a guitar amp though...you could blow it out with the bass drum.

My wife plays my guitars fine, but my girlfriend has smaller hands, and she wants to learn how to play.

a good keyboard amp would work well. can he seperate the drums? the roland KC series of keyboard amps have 4 inputs i think. this could work well in getting a better mix or whatever.

on a side note, where are you at uni? what you studying?

some form of keyboard amp would be a good choice for just now.

and make sure you get a wah inbetween the drums and the amp.

how do those marshall handles compare tonewise to, say, mesa handles?

if you run it through a pa you will need to have bass bins otherwise a drum monitor would be best

Right, so either a keyboard amp, bass amp or a drum monitor, cheers. I'll see if we can borrow anything like that from the jamming place.

And of course I'm gonna try out my wah inbetween them haha.

I'm at Sheffield Hallam studying business studies.
