hi all, this is my first post so be gentle lol

was wondering how you would play this below, i've seen it layed out on a lot of people's tabs - always wondered if it would be an open string, but they don't mark it with a 0.

thanks in advance, keep rocking!!

e|-------------------------------------------------------------------
b|-------------------------------------------------------------------
g|---161616161616161616-17171717-16-14-------------
d|-------------------------------------------------------------------
a|---101010101010101010-10101010-10-10-------------
E|-------------------------------------------------------------------

do you play 1 string and try to flick the other with your 4th finger? sorry i know this sounds dumb!

just mute the other string, like this:

1616161616161616
1010101010101010

yeh.. but it's kinda hard to play
17-17-17-17-17
x - x -x - x -x
10-10-10-10-10

well.. you know what i mean... to have one finger over 7 frets...

right ok cheers, i guess it just shows how many different ways there is for tabbing stuff! but when i mute it, i never know much hard i should mute - like to kill the tone or or get a muffled sound?

mute until it sounds like the song you are trying to play.

It might be kinda difficult spanning 4 strings, but instead of playing the 16/17, you could move up one string and play 11/12.

So instead of what you posted it would look like:

--11-11-12-12
--xxxxxxxxxxx
--xxxxxxxxxxx
--10-10-10-10

Same notes, just on different strings.

it wouldnt be on the 11 and 12th frets, it'd be on the 12th and 13th
