I need help deciding which fretboard between the bottom two choices will look nicer on a guitar

which one do you guys prefer? (the second one will get cut and such by them. so Its just looking at the wood.)

The guitar is going to be mohagany, but as to what color, I havent the slightest idea.

i wouldn't base the decision primarily on aesthetics. at least evaluate it in conjunction with the rest of the guitar- you said mahogany, but what kind of finish, whats the neck species, headstock overlay, hardware, etc.
they're both ebonies, so they should feel and sound similiar. gaboon ebony is darker, and will become more consistent with dye or as you play it.

Aesthetics is relativly important in this decision.

No clue what kind of finish, will base that off of whatever the final, unpainted product looks like. Black hardware.

Not much else there is to it.

I'd go with the first, simply becuase the frets are already etched in.
