I have been doing some research and am trying to decide on what guitar I want to buy and am willing to spend up to $700, maybe a little more if the guitar is really something. One guitar I have considered is the Schecter Gryphon, but haven't found anywhere to try one out yet. I am wanting a guitar with a fixed bridge, easier to tune. Any help is appreciated, I also really like Ibanez and Jacksons.

dude.
get an esp.
any 400 Series or 1000 Series will do.
and should be in that price range.

My personal opinion.

If you like the SG body shape
get an esp viper 400 or 1000 (whichever you can afford)

If you like the Les Paul body Shape
Get an esp ec400 or 1000 (once again, whichever you can afford)

If you like strats or super strats
get an mh400nt or F-400

all have emgs and neck through body's and are made out of mahogany.

you should be set with one of those man.

dude that EC-1000 (the LP shape) is BEAUTIFUL.

I'd say the Viper, I heard they were better than the F series. Are they agathis guitars (The vipers), too? If not, they probally play a lot different.

I have a f-250 coming in the mail, but if I were you, I'd get a ec1000 or a Viper. I don't like the SG body style, for some reason, however.

I think I have an agathis guitar, and it's pretty light. I've been borrowing it from my neighbor for a while, and it's light as hell.

Mohagany, I heard, is really heavy.

all of the ones i recommended are mahogany.
and i can vouch for the f series being light as its my guitar.

but well.
i cant vouch for the others.
ive heard they are light as well though.

I see. Maybe only the F series is agathis.

Your right, since its a LP body, it should be Mohagany...

gryphon is a really nice guitar(with that budget you nearly have to do a pickup swap).

it's guitar center only though

Don't go for any ESP below the 400 mark. Check out the Ibanez SZ320; you'll have plenty left over for a pickup swap, and I can personally say it's a great guitar.

I like a classic rock feel, and still can get harmonics. I play through a boss gt-8, so i can use that for distortion. Something that sounds good clean as well.
