It's sexually invigorating. There's nothing like dirty, taboo breaking to make you feel naughty.

Because Fender and Gibson are the two biggest guitar companies, and there's an eternal friendly rivalry between them

Been done many times. Johnny Winter started out on Fender Super Reverbs with a Gibson Firebird, then went to Music Man amps (see below) and played a Les Paul on occasion, and an Epiphone for a good while. Joe Walsh played a Les Paul and a Strat through a Super Reverb, Chuck Berry played a Gibson 335 through two knob Fenders (Volume, Tone), Clapton has been pictured with Gibsons, and played Music Man amps, made by Leo Fender's company after he sold out to CBS, David Gilmour has played everything through everything...probably the kitchen sink too...Others have done the same, I've played a Les Paul through my Fender Champ.

It's all about whatever gets you the sound you want, who made it is incidental...
Hmmm...I wonder what this button does...

no it's not wrong. and are they really rivals? they're not competing for the same ranges of guitars or amps really. it's basically the favoring of les pauls or strats more.

wait the poll title says is it okay to run a gibson through a fender amp and your post says is it blasphemy to runa gibson through a fender amp... im kind of confused... so.. which are you asking? because if i say yes to being able to run a gibson through a fender i would also be saying yes it is blasphemy which makes me contradict myself... i think you can run a gibson through fender so would i vote for yes or no.. be more clear next time...

Haha, I was just watching a Placebo dvd and Brian was running Fenders and SG's through a Fender which had a marshall extension cab.

Sounded kickass to me.

no. what's more, you should only ever use guitars and amps from the same companies. so if you want to use a prs guitar, you're **** outta luck.
#24
Eric Clapton did it (in Bldin Faith), Keith Richards does it, BB King does it, heck even Steve Jones did it.

Gibsons and Fender amps go good together. Fender guitars and Marshall amps go good together. None are blasphemy, except putting a bucker in a strat

If a rig puts out tone, it puts out tone, even if the guitar makes you look like a hippie and the head has "douchebag" printed on the front.
#30
Of course you can do that, its all personal opinion. But for me, i think nothing compliments a nice fender amp better than a nice bright SS/SSS guitar. But I think a gibby would work out nicely, you'd still get a nice twangy fendery tone while smoothening off the edges.
