IMHO:
Pink Floyd: Classic Symphonic Rock
Beatles: Pop music (but they took it to a level pop music has never reached since then)
Genisis: Not sure, don't know alot of music by them
Bowie: Made of lot of differents styles of music, can't really put him in a box
Clash: AFAIK they were punk, but I don't have music by them.

Everyone kinda has his or her own definition of genres so opinions will differ. And putting labels on music usually isn't benefitial.

Yeah, all of them but The Clash - I consider them more punk then CR.

And Genesis played progressive rock in the beginning, before they went radio friendly in the 80's.

They're all Classic Rock, The Clash included. Even though they were a punk band, they fit into the Classic Rock time scale and they were playing rock music, just of the punk derivative.

Derigiberble would win in a fight against any UGer, n00b or not, just because most people on the site can't help but love him/her.

I see no harms in labeling bands in this case...

They're all classic and they played rock. Simple.

The fact is, it's the internet. If there's a better reason for the internet besides porn, arguing and piracy, I haven't found it.

Hey Led Zeppelin is my third favorite guitar player, after Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull.

No there al consider classic because theyare all more than 20 years old ... but thats just my opinion, also they are all bands tha the classic rock stations around here play.

Forgive me if I am completely wrong here but would that also be said for bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica and other bands that are more than 20 years old? Would they be considered Classic Rock automatically because they have been around for over 20 years?

I would label bands Classic Rock for the music they play, not how long they've been around

Just my 2 cents
