is there a cheaper way to record music and make an album on the computer? im wondering since im trying to make a one man band cd so i can get my name out as a musician but all the stuff ive seen is hundreds of dollars

Next purchase: Peavey Vypyr 30 Combo Amp

audacity's free, but it's recording only.
drumming plugins aren't cheap, but cheaper than trying to record and mix a set.

pick up a copy of protools if you can swing it - you can do EVERYTHING in it.
