Yes, my dad just booked a holiday to US for Christmas!!!

That will change my plan completely. Before, I was thinking of getting a Washburn x50pro OR LTD MH400 for christmas. Now, I can get away from this crappy place, and buy a guitar from America!

I am thinking of getting either an Agile LP for project. I will change the pickups and electrons when I get home. (Always wanted a LP) Or I can stick to my plan and get a MH400 from US, as it is miles cheaper than it is here in the UK.

What do you reckon?

Why not the Washburn?

Also look into Corts, or used guitars.

And where in the US?

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

Get something higher end if it were me. Your'll only save about £100 on a cheapo, whereas you'll save like £200 on an american strat/ Gibson SG etc.

I'd go for the Agile, you'll be impressed. Not even just for the price; Agiles are just plain great guitars.
Agile AL-3100 (highly recommended)
SX SST57 strat copy
OE30 Hollowbody
SX fretless bass
Epiphone PR-200 acoustic
Yamaha G-40 classical
Epiphone Valve Junior head
1x12 custom cab
4x12 Behringer Half-stack

West Coast

California and Nevada.

I already have a cort myself. And I was looking at KX custom for sometime. But MH400 and the Washburn beat it in value really.

Yeah, I would definately look out for used ones. Especially if I get a chance to pickup an used Carvin. That would be sweet.

agile's are mail order only..

i'd say the MH-400

but if you get an Agile AL-3100, they're amazing
#8
if u want a LP for a project, try out an Epi Les paul, maybe a Studio. Or an ESP Eclipse 400, as its a lot cheaper than the other 400 guitars.

make sure you know the rules for importing stuff like that too.
sometimes weird things are illegal and the confiscate them

wow, you're going to change the electrons? let me know how that works out.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Probably not a Gibson. I don't really want spend a lot of money on that name on the headstock.

BTW dave, I have no idea about electrons, I guess I will read more on it before I start anything.

really agile are good? and remember you have to pay tax to bring it back

the agile AL-3100 and up are really awesome for the money, and i hear the 4000's are amazing, and not just for the price

but i really don't want to pay 600 bucks for a guitar that has little resale value out side of the agile forums

I reckon if you're going to the states you can do better than an Agile.

+1

seriously, though, i agree with sn^ke- i haven't tried an agile, but based on what I think the quality will be, you can probably do better, or at very least buy something which is much more expensive in the UK.

Hmmm...

Well, I want something with hot passive pickups. Mahogany or basswood body. A hardtail bridge. And the neck shouldn't be too thin.

Just go to a Guitar Center or Samash, they're not that hard too find.

You'll be surrounded by a bunch of different guitars and you can try whatever you like until you find the right one.

You can't know what you're going to find in the shops there (although some items are predictable) and besides, what can be more fun than spending hours in a guitar store (with your parents, who'll be bored to tears, but who cares).

If your going to the San Francisco area, may I recommend you stop by Rocker Guitars, they're not very big but the staff is helpful (bought my Epiphone there). Also, there's a Guitar Center on Van Ness.
You've read it, you can't un-read it!

I guess that's the only way.

But I'd like some suggestions and ideas before I go in the store.

Also. I will probably try out guitars in Les Vages, my mum and dad will spend their day in casinos and I will waste time in guitar shops

There are five Carvin stores in California. Log on to the web and see which would be close.
Edit: Man my geography and reading comprehension are going down hill. Too much partying as a youngster. Wait maybe there is a Los Vegas in California.

he was talking about schecter's USA custom shop

that would kick a**

look for carvin, omg, amazing guitar's at relatively inexpensive prices for what you get, to get an amazing carvin you might have to spend 1,500, not much at all for what you get....

and if you go into guitar center and samash and stuff, remember you can talk them down on prices
