Man. When I saw that UG didn't have a Doors thread, I almost shat myself!!!

How can there be no thread about one of the most influential bands in history?

The Doors had it all. A brilliant lyricist, rockin' guitarst, jazzy drummer, and a fantastic keyboardist. They struck every chord with excellency.

Post what you think of the Doors, or any questions. I'm sure one of the excellent UGers can answer them.

I just recently got into the Doors. Now I can't get enough of 'em!

Your sig is genius xD

I dislike the Doors, Robby Krieger, Jim Morrison, and the rest of the band were all great at what they did, but I think like many bands of that time period they lacked organization and good composition.

Basically I think a lot of their songs are poorly composed (and boring), sortof like Zeppelin, I'd rather listen to the Who.

edit:

What I'm really trying to say is, music should be good even when you aren't totally blazed!

How so? A lot of their songs are ingenious. I really enjoy the fact that a lot of them are all out jams. Great for getting high to, to be honest.

But Jim was different than a lot of other singers in his time period. He was a brilliant poet.

Like I said, jam music is interesting if you're stoned, but I don't think music should need to be listened to while high to be good (but there's nothing wrong with listening to music while stoned )

I don't think it takes a lot of talent to jam, it's self indulgent, to me at least.

(BTW, I don't smoke anymore, I prefer to keep my mind clear, so maybe I'm just grumpy xD)

I prefer to listen to jam music while driving, actually. Their music has this laid backiness to it. But I can find a bit of pumpupiness within it. I love listening to some of their longest songs, "Light My Fire", "When the Music's Over", "Riders On the Storm", and "The End".

And, you need to get high.

Use the search button next time, not the search bar.

Even though is not the main "Doors" thread, I would like to state that you do not "need to be high" to enjoy any songs of theres. The End is one of my favorite songs of their's, and I am drug-free. Just saying.

Music should be good when you aren't totally ****ed up? Of course, but it's even better under the influence, here is a website that is more suitable to your tastes....

Seriously. Everything you have ever been told has been a lie, and if you had a bad experience previously, its your own damn fault because you had no respect for the substance you were injesting. Do some research beforehand, and you might understand, otherwise, keep voting and following rules like a good little noncompliant.
