The other day I read an article in the newspaper about bionic body parts, and the bionic eye in particular. This artificial eye will allow blind people to see again. it said "15 years ago people watched with awe at artificial hips and such, these days we are well on our way to making, for example, artificial lungs and hearts."

Earlier I read about "the first cyborg". Apparently this man implanted hardware into his own arm, and can control a machine arm 2000 miles away with his own hand.

This raises so many questions. Can the entire human body be replaced? Does God, if any, approve of this revolution in technology?

ARE WE TURNING INTO FULL BLOWN TRANSFORMERS?!

I think I heard somewhere else recently that humans would be having sex with robots in the near future.

Artificial hips don't move, or receive light, or transmit massive amounts of information to the precise part of the brain in a precise fashion.

It's a strong solid which doesn't give the body any hassles (or the body hassle the implant), as many artificial experiements would have.

suck because whats the point in learning something if you just use robot arms to play but then a story will be like the one where the guy worked on the railroad and outworked the machines, only this time there will be the real guitar player in comp with a robot armed person and he will amazingly pull off things even the robot could not

We won't have mechanical appendages, we'll have organic ones that we'll grow ourselves. Cyborgs (like a more complicated ASIMO sort of thing) will be separate to humans. Humans will still always be organic.

Some guy in Japan was hooked up with like brain scanners and **** and it was connected to a video game, and he was able to control the game with his mind...just but thinking about walking...all he could do was walk and turn but they're going to make it able to detect all braing activity and ****...so it'll be psycic video games.

Maybe Bionic Brains Would Make People Stop Typing Like This.

Seriously though medical science today is amazing and should be embraced to its full potential if it means saving/extending the live of people.
G - L - O - R - I - A is love.... my friend.

It's not as complicated as one would thing. A machine "thinks" by receiving electric impulses to its different processors from its "brain circuit". A human works in a similar way, only we have nerves instead of wires and muscle instead of processors.

If the electric signal sent from our brains could trigger a mechanical extension bionics would be a very real thing.

I read an article on this one time, it also went heavily into how a scientist made a devise that stimulated women at the spinal cords to give them an orgasm using a remote control.

So if there are loads of bionic parts in, say 10 years, it'll be 10 years and 6 months before the internet is full of bionic porn?

What I think is crazy is imagine being blind your whole life then suddenly being able to see, it's going to totally blow their minds, they may just pass out from the information overload...

You'll never be able to recreate all the intracacies of the human brain. The "soul" of a human being would be eliminated in an electronic brain. We'd all be heartless robots.

an electronic brain is just incomprehendable. so much stuff goes through our brain without us ever realising it. we fire electric impulses across synapse gaps! no machinery could ever be that intricate. so maybe not brains, but everything else, i guess, would be replacable in the (near) future. i'm for metal skin.

A hundred years ago people said it was imposible for any mechanical mean of transportation to travel faster than 15Km/h and look where we are now.

Read my post. An artificial personality is not a personality. Human beings cannot create a soul. (Regardless of if you believe in the actual soul, I mean the general concept.)
