I have a carvin Ct4, and I I've been playing with 13 guage strings for a while (I was trying to be like stevie ray vaughan). Now I'm back down to playing with 11's.

The frets are pretty warn down. Should I get a fret job, and hold off on the refret? I was thinking about refreting my guitar with stainless steel; any opinions about that?
Should I find a luthier, or is sam ash/ guitar center good enough?

pics? Its hard to determine if you need a total refret or just a crown/leveling without pictures.

a 60$ set of fret files will do wonders, especially compared to a 200$ refret...

what type of strings were you using? stainless steel strings devour frets.. like the ernie ball stainless, or the dean markley blue steel. for the sake of fret life, try to stick with nickel plated or pure nickel
