imo, id go for the GRX because it has more versatility + a tremolo bar. The IJ isnt bad, but doesnt have the range of the RG. Ultimately though, just try both out and see what you like better,

I started playing 1 1/2 yrs. ago. I got the GRX40 and loved it for a starter guitar. As the guy above me said, it has more versatility then the other one. Anyways, ultimately up to you but my GRX is great.

Don't buy a beginner kit, you can get a good amp and a decent guitar for that much that will both be better than what comes in either of those kits.

True, if you can afford it, id go for the RG150 and get a 15 watt amp seperately
