Yep. Finally got one.

As of tomorrow (when it's my actual birthday), I'll have in my posession a Worn Cherry Epiphone Dot Studio. dual humbuckers, master volume and tone knobs, 3-way switch, black tuners and hardware. Sounds very nice acoustically, too.

Already had a mind to get the Studio, but also tried an Deluxe Player's Strat (a bit out of my price range, though), a used Mexican Standard Strat (used, and was actually kinda dirty. GC didn't clean it in the least before they put it out), and a fully hollow Ibanez Artcore (not sure of the exact model). Wanted to play the Epiphone Casino before I left (my one and only love) but didn't have enough time.

Just have to comment on the Artcore. Damn, hollowbodies feedback like mad. And I love it. It's like trying to keep an angry bull under control, gives you a real challenge in your playing. Really have to have finesse in your strumming and picking.

But yeah, I've got a guitar now. Also got four free Danelectro FAB pedals and bought myself a Danelectro Honeytone travel amp (which is shockingly good). Also decided on getting myself a Fender Blues Jr. amp at Christmas, so then I should be all set to play.

Peace, everybody. thanks for all your comments and suggestions that ended up influencing my choice.

Nothing like a birthday BJ I suppose.

Seriously though congratz on the guitar, a semi hollow through that Fender tube amp sounds like a good setup.

I'm just saving all the money I get hopefully in a few months i'll have an AC30 or Plexi amp of some sort.

So, pics. okay.

Here she is. Any suggestions for naming it?

^Showing how the neck slopes back. guess it makes playing easier.

And my gear:

^I can't get over how awesome this amp is. Go buy one. Now.

^The Echo's been my favorite so far, and the Flange is gonna be awesome as soon as I find a decent setting.....

You could name your guitar "polka" .
Then it becomes a Polka Dot.

Lol bad attempt, names will come later on, just play that guitar non stop for the next week.

Nice setup BTW, it'll be even nicer once you get the Fender.

^Thing is, the whole reason they're called "Dot" is because of the fretboard markers. and, on this model, no fretboard markers whatsoever. Ironic a bit....

yeah, I'll be playin' as much as school will allow me to. Got a tryout for the school's Guitar Club band coming up Wednesday, and since I've got no soloing ability to speak of (and rhythm playing isn't particualrly impressive), I'll be going all out with my slide playing. Nonstop practice of "In My Time of Dying"........should be interesting......

name her "Jane" because thats the name i thought after looking at the pictures.
