Thread rip off time So what are your favorite covers out there?

Uli Jon Roth - "White Room" There is something about his voice and the sound of his guitar that makes this seem really awesome.

Prince - "Best of You" (From last years Super bowl concert) Another really enjoyable one, and it was really out of left field for Prince. I would love to hear him do a studio version even if it will never happen.

Guns N Roses - "Knockin on Heavens Door" As much as I like to poke fun at this one, its excellent imo. Slash's guitar work is amazing. To hell with anyone who says he can't play slow and with feeling.

Judas Priest - "Diamonds and Rust" They totally made this into their own thing. The guitar licks that fill out the song help to complete the feel of it.

Orgy - "Blue Monday" Another case of taking a song and making it there own. But in a different way. It still heavily resembles the original, but is played on "conventional" instruments.

I like Korn's cover of Another Brick in the Wall I-III. Everyone hates it, but covers arent about doing the song perfectly. They really flipped the song into a heavy, driving song. And it doesnt hurt that Munkey did the solo perfectly.
Mastodons cover of Orion. Havent listened to it a whole lot, but i like it.
HIMs cover of Solitary Man. Sounds good for a Neil Diamond song (NOT a Cash original).

Guns N Roses - Ain't It Fun
Guns N Roses - Knockin' On Heaven's Door (mostly just for the arrangement. Don't give me that 'playing slow and emotionally' bollocks though. All of the solos in this version are taken from other songs on the original Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid soundtrack)
Skid Row - Little Wing
Joe Perry - Crystal Ship
Within Temptation - Running Up That Hill
KISS - God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You II
Lostprophets - Cry Me A River
Lostprophets - In The Air Tonight
Avril Lavigne - Knockin' On Heaven's Door (don't laugh. She does a genuinely good job of it)

Johnny Cash his version of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails was quite good in my opinion.

Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt" is great. Clapton's version of J.J. Cale's "Cocaine" is a great cover too.
