I dont own a whammy bar, but every time i hear a song with a dive bomb, my heart just loves it! But i wanted to know what does the whammy bar do to make its sound? I read that it puts pressure on the strings????

It just tightens or loosens the strings by moving the tremolo (bridge) forward or back.
