I have one of those crappy twenty dollar fender blue sparkle tuners I got when I was just starting on the guitar. Now that I have started gigging I need a tuner that has a bypass, so when I turn it on the tuner it kills the signal to the amp, as people don't want to hear you tune up during a show. Is there an easy way to mod the tuner to kill signal when I turn it on. I can solder and have basic electronics understanding, so I will be able to mod the thing if that is a solution to my problem.

i got a planet waves pedal tuner, the shiny one. its true bypass and you can control whether or not it kills your signal when you turn it on

Sell it and buy a better tuner with a high quality bypass

Is there such a thing as a heavy riff with out chugging on the e string?

@ECistheBest: Yeah, the true bypass looper is probably way over my head and my budget.

@sobeisbull: Yeah, I was hopeing I wouldn't have to go out and buy a new tuner if I could just mod this one.

@CLIFF_BURTON: If I can't mod it, that is probably what I will do.

No, I saw all those bypass switches and remembered the last time I bought one, it was like 5 bucks for one of them.

^$4. all you need is one for the tuner. i'll calculate:
3PDT Switch: $4
Enclosure: $5
four jacks: $4

total: $13.

new tuner: $100. wtf?

u can get all those there. for like... $4 shipping.
u might want an LED, bezel, and a battery clip if u want an indicator.

if not, screw the 3PDT and get the DPDT for $2! hahaha.
