Hey,

I have decided in another topic im going for the Ibanez RG321MH. Now im buying it from Merchant City Guitars.. but im gonna need a new amp to as im not plugging it into my ****ty Benson AMP lol...

So can someone tell me a good amp to get. Its just for home use not gigs.. I just want something better than the Benson that will compliment the Ibanez.. Not too pricey either.

I wanna order them before 12pm so I get the next day delivery so asap if possible..

Heres the site:

http://www.guitar.co.uk/

Thanks

Are they worth getting or are there cheapers ones I should be looking at?

Also am I better getting the reverb one or not?

Got like 40mins before I miss the deadline...

I found it but Availability: 7-14 days lol...

I could go up to the shop but I dunno yet...

Just wanna get all the details sorted before hand...

I know what guitar im getting.. Ill get some picks... its just the amp.

So you think the Roland Microcube is better .. I just thought marshall was the best brand and it looked a nice amp.
#7
Btw they'd both be cheaper at http://www.gak.co.uk.

Marshall is a decent brand, but only when you get into the £300+ range; the valve amps. Their MG and AVT ranges really aren't worth buying.

sounds like a buzzsaw attacking a beehive, not that great

Gibson Buckethead Les Paul & Peter Frampton Les Paul

Digitch Whammy

Herdim Picks
Laney Linebacker 50 Reverb

Lol, ive missed the cutoff for GAK for tomorrow delivery..

So im basically either gonna need to order something quick from G.co.uk or just go up to the shop..

So by choice it sounds like ive to ****ing ignore Marshall lol..

And get a :

Roland Microcube
Voc AD15
Vox DA5

Is that right?
#11
Pretty much. If that's all that you can afford, then yeah. The Microcube apparently does metal better than the Vox AD15, but personally I prefer the Vox. That being said, I don't play much modern metal

Any of those should be fine.
#12
Ive been thinking for a while... And im going away soon... and im impatient lol...

Anyways..

It seems to be narrowed down to the Roland and the Vox DA5..

What is the best out of the two?

for you, playing metal the microcube, quick!
#14
Dammit, the microcube is not immediate dispatch... the VOX is...

Ive had 1 for VOX and 1 for Roland... anyone wanna help the castin vote?
#16
Ahhh **** I play both, from Maiden to Atreyu...

Emm.. I looked at UG's reviews on them.. pretty similar but I think the VOX gets the advantage with 2 10's

No matter what one I get its gonna sound alot better than the benson anyway so I think the VOX has the advantage..... but again.. final answers needed.... I know im rushing and being an arse but sorry lol.

well, to be honest i dont think the vox will reach Atreyu, but im not sure
but if your desperate then go ahead and get the vox

edit: PLEASE dont get the marshall, the distortion is terrible, trust me
#19
microcube definately. You won't find a better small amp for your style of music at that price.
Quote by Lukeisonfire
tool and opeth definitly dont play tube amps . You cant get those distorted sounds out of it. tube is for like beatles stuff right?

You're right, just about the only thing better than a Spider 3 is an MG : )

#20
I phoned up and they said they dont have the Microcube in stock, but they do have the Vox.. is there any other UK based sites I could get the microcube asap and even the guitar same price at same time?
#22
Ok ive got everything together in stock on 1 site and im ready to buy, but can someone just confirm that this:

http://www.musicstreet.co.uk/ibanezrg321weatheredblack-p-1861.html?osCsid=95cabad46615402b59538dd8b21587f3

Is the same as the Ibanez RG321MH?

Just cause it dont say MH at the end I wanna check..

So im getting:

Ibanez RG321MH (if that is correct)
Roland Microcube 2w Guitar AMP
Planet Waves Classic Series Instrument Cable (for amp to guitar)

TOTAL : £254.98

Does that sound about right? and perfect to get?

Its next day delivery so thats cool..

So someone just confirm I have all this right so I can hit buy

Thanks again for all your help

i haven't tried the da5, but the roland cube and microcube are better for metal than the vox ad15 (or was it the 30? either way, it's immaterial), which i have tried.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

the guitar looks the same, either way it wont be drastically different, and yeh i think the microcube will be good for you, just remember it wont be THAT loud, could fill your bedroom tho
and good choice on gettin a decent cable

edit- youll want a tuner, i recommend the boss tu-80, it has a metronome as well,

Im litterally about to hit buy so if someone can confirm that the Ibanez RG321 and Ibanez RG321MH are the same thing?

(look at last post for more details)
#28
11111000%

Cause I just looked in the UG reviews and they have 2, one for each... but if there definetly the same things:

http://www.guitar.co.uk/guitars/electric/373-ibanez_rg321mh_electric_guitar?page=4

and

http://www.musicstreet.co.uk/ibanezrg321weatheredblack-p-1861.html?osCsid=95cabad46615402b59538dd8b21587f3

Then I will hit confirm lol.. im on the final step.

I think one says Mahogany... and the other says Basswood... can someone check this.
#32
So to get this right... am I better buying the one at £199 on that MusicUK site... or will I just get the guitar on the Guitar.co.uk and the amp on MusicUK.
#34
Well ive just bought the roland from MusicStreet...

I play Maiden, Atreyu, Metallica... loads tbh...

Now its a case of:

1) Buying the Ibanez on the Guitar.co.uk for £189.00

2) Finding out how to cancel and buying the one for £199 on MusicStreet?

What should I do?
#36
Ok, ill need to phone and ask them to add it to the order...

What are the differences anyway.. its not Left handed or anything is it? Is it better than the one on Guitar.co.uk
#37
well its made of basswood, probably more suited to what your playing, it has a white binding meaning it looks cooler (!), it has better pick-ups, its the new model for 2007 and its got a reverse headstock which makes it look cooler.
i would go for that personally
and have you ordered a tuner or not? because if you start playing and getting used to it being out of tune then you wont know when your guitars out of tune when your better,
also its a good habit to everytime you play check its in tune.

edit: no its not left handed
#38
Ok I was sick of all this lol.. So I done this:

Ibanez RG321MH
http://www.guitar.co.uk/guitars/electric/373-ibanez_rg321mh_electric_guitar

PlanetWaves Guitar Lead
http://www.guitar.co.uk/accessories/leads/527-planet_waves_pwcgtra10_classic_instrument_cable

and on

MusicStreetUK

Roland Microcube
http://www.musicstreet.co.uk/rolandmicrocube2wguitaramplifier-p-762.html?osCsid=95cabad46615402b59538dd8b21587f3

The grand total which I have spent is:

£284.74

...

So to ease my pain lol, have I made a right choice in equipment... I am using a ****ty Benson starter setup just now so...
#40
Why?

Music street have sent my an email of it being dispatched, and I phoned Guitar.co.uk and they said I will have mine for tomorrow.
