I just saw this movie over the weekend and I thought it was brilliant. It just got me thinking that Hell could not be any worse than the setting in that movie. And although the whole Zombie thing was a little farfetched, something like that could actually happen. And it was also a commentary on war today.

People are killing each other all the time and there really are wars and there really are people who are devastated by it. When they were talking about how the rest of the world didn't even act like anything was wrong it just reminds of the crap that is happening today. There are over 600,000 civilian deaths in Iraq up to date, and people being terrorized all over the world and most people in the world don't even notice.

Anyways, I don't know if it made anyone else think that hard, but that movie just illicited some pondering. A couple of my friends think that it sucked, but my other one likes it and says the sequel is even better. What are yall's opinion on the subject?

So basically, you didnt bang a girl, because she was shocked how small it was.

i freaking LOVE 28 days later AND the sequel. TOTALLY beautifully and masterfully crafted

The film does not suck, it's a great film considering the budget Boyle had. And another thing, the're not zombies. They are humans infected with the Rage Virus. 28 days is a Great British masterpiece.

It was pretty good. But see 28 Weeks Later. Its a thousand times better and answers a lot of questions about the story line. While bringing in some new ones...

The hell is wrong with you people? 28 days later is a great movie. Not enough gore? not enough explosions? not enough crappy teen comedy?

It's a good suspenseful watch, and the sequel is just as good in my opinion, with a little more action and less suspense.

You "heard" hell is a place where you sit in darkness? Did someone go to hell and report back to you? Seriously, whoever told you that is a moron for pretending to know something like that.-

And 28 Days Later is a brilliant movie and the sequel was decent.

Haven't seen the sequel but 28 Days Later was an awesome film, way better than a lot of the other stuff out there. There's more to making a good film than just adding more gore and CG rendered s***.

Ok everyone please explain why the movie sucked. I hate it when it comes to movies and people are like "o it sux lol"

But I'm quoting you because I thought the sequel wasn't as good as the first. I liked 28 days later.

28 Days Later was a brilliant film. It was not only a major thriller it also made you think.
An obvious example of this is the threadstarter's first post.

The sequel however seemed to be more of a blockbuster "movie" than a brilliantly crafted piece of film. Good acting by Robert Carlyle in the sequel though.

Danny Boyle is an amazing director.

The best part on Weeks later is the first 7 minutes or so. Other than that theres nothing special really.

Both 28 days and 28 weeks later are quality zombie movies that DO have political messages that are meant to have us reflect on human nature. The worst is that people who don't like these movies complain that there's too much violence and death and screaming and running around without enough of a story. Oh really? Almost like.... A ZOMBIE MOVIE.

It wasn't a zombie movie. They were people infected with the Rage virus, that just got them super angry. More proof that they aren't zombies is that all the infected people starve to death.

One of the best movies ever, followed closely by 28 Weeks Later. Both were ****ing amazing, and I think the possibilty of that kind of world is scary enough to make the message of it really good. 28 Weeks had cooler action sequences though, mostly cause it could have cooler special effects with its higher budget.

The film has many subtle commentaries in it.

It's incredible.

Also, if I were you, I'd look a little deeper next time for symbolism and representation because 28 Days Later was made in 2002, one year before the occupation of Iraq. Moreover, the commentary you're referring to is much too forefront to ever really be a commentary.
