thats about a hunter named fred bear

i could probably anaylyse that for you..

I did almost the same thing, but I did a bunch of songs. I would suggest Learning to Fly by Pink Floyd, symptom of the universe by Sabbath..... of you could always do Stairway if you can't think of anything else

An easy one would be Sunday Bloody Sunday.

If you want something a little more challenging then most songs by Breaking Benjamin, Muse and Placebo, or even some Nirvana.

You keep seeing songs like KoC, SMBH, and Hysteria showing up on games, but I want Micro Cuts on either Rock Band or Sing Star. I want to see numerous masses of kids staring at the tv wondering what the hell they're supposed to do.

You could always look into post-harcore songs. You may not like the music but 99% of the time the lyrics are amazing.

I would try, Seven Years by Saosin
Paris In Flames by Thursday
Or a ton of other songs in the genre.

Try analysing Coheed and Cambria's lyrics - every single song is part of a greater concept telling the epic story of a husband and wife, Coheed, and Cambria, their son Claudio Kilgannon, who happens to be the Messiah or Crowing, his dog Apollo, his girlfriend Newo Ikkin - and the many misadventures including the murder of his siblings - his fall into insanity - his eventual death - and perhaps the end of the universe as we know it in his hands.

We don't know exactly what happens anyways - we're just waiting for the comics.

I would do a song by Brand New, Sowing Season perhaps, but that's because my taste in music is infinitely better than most of the people around here...
#19
Or you could do some heavy metal that actually isn't deathly. All That Remains- The Weak Willed for example. Or Six, since the former is rather straightforward.

Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen

Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan

It's all over now baby blue - Bob Dylan

Pretty much any Bob Dylan song you come across.

I'd recommend Visions of Johanna a real classic :

Ain't it just like the night to play tricks when you're tryin' to be so quiet?
We sit here stranded, though we're all doin' our best to deny it
And Louise holds a handful of rain, temptin' you to defy it
Lights flicker from the opposite loft
In this room the heat pipes just cough
The country music station plays soft
But there's nothing, really nothing to turn off
Just Louise and her lover so entwined
And these visions of Johanna that conquer my mind

In the empty lot where the ladies play blindman's bluff with the key chain
And the all-night girls they whisper of escapades out on the "D" train
We can hear the night watchman click his flashlight
Ask himself if it's him or them that's really insane
Louise, she's all right, she's just near
She's delicate and seems like the mirror
But she just makes it all too concise and too clear
That Johanna's not here
The ghost of 'lectricity howls in the bones of her face
Where these visions of Johanna have now taken my place

Now, little boy lost, he takes himself so seriously
He brags of his misery, he likes to live dangerously
And when bringing her name up
He speaks of a farewell kiss to me
He's sure got a lotta gall to be so useless and all
Muttering small talk at the wall while I'm in the hall
How can I explain?
Oh, it's so hard to get on
And these visions of Johanna, they kept me up past the dawn

Inside the museums, Infinity goes up on trial
Voices echo this is what salvation must be like after a while
But Mona Lisa musta had the highway blues
You can tell by the way she smiles
See the primitive wallflower freeze
When the jelly-faced women all sneeze
Hear the one with the mustache say, "Jeeze
I can't find my knees"
Oh, jewels and binoculars hang from the head of the mule
But these visions of Johanna, they make it all seem so cruel

The peddler now speaks to the countess who's pretending to care for him
Sayin', "Name me someone that's not a parasite and I'll go out and say a prayer for him"
But like Louise always says
"Ya can't look at much, can ya man?"
As she, herself, prepares for him
And Madonna, she still has not showed
We see this empty cage now corrode
Where her cape of the stage once had flowed
The fiddler, he now steps to the road
He writes ev'rything's been returned which was owed
On the back of the fish truck that loads
While my conscience explodes
The harmonicas play the skeleton keys and the rain
And these visions of Johanna are now all that remain

I know the perfect song come to think of it ! It's Bob Dylans "subterannean homesick blues"

black/alive - pearl jam

pretty deep stuff.

Pearl Jam - Black Lyrics print version

Hey...oooh...
Sheets of empty canvas
Untouched sheets of clay
Were laid spread out before me
As her body once did
All five horizons
Revolved around her soul
As the earth to the sun
Now the air I tasted and breathed
Has taken a turn
Ooh and all I taught her was everything
Ooh I know she gave me all that she wore
And now my bitter hands
Chafe beneath the clouds
Of what was everything
Oh the pictures have
All been washed in black
Tattooed everything
I take a walk outside
I'm surrounded by
Some kids at play
I can feel their laughter
So why do I sear
Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin
Round my head
I'm spinning
Oh, I'm spinning
How quick the sun can, drop away...
And now my bitter hands
Cradle broken glass
Of what was everything
All the pictures had
All been washed in black
Tattooed everything
All the love gone bad
Turned my world to black
Tattooed all I see
All that I am
All I'll be...
Yeah
Uh huh...uh huh...ooh...
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a sun
In somebody else's sky
But why
Why
Why can't it be
Why can't it be mine
(not sure?)
mm-hmm no yeah no
mm mmmm no nonono yeah yeah
we-
we belong
we belong together
together
oooh ooh
we-
we belong
we belong together
oh yeah

REM's Bady Day is good, with several political and religous references:

A Public service announcement followed me home the other day
I paid it nevermind. Go away.
Sh*ts so thick you could stir with a stick- free Teflon whitewashed presidency
We're sick of being jerked around
Wear that on your sleeve

Broadcast me a joyful noise unto the times, lord,
Count your blessings.
We're sick of being jerked around
We all fall down.

Have you ever seen the televised St. vitus subcommittee prize
Investigation dance? Those-ants-in- pants glances.
Well, look behind the eyes
It's a hallowed, hollow anesthesized
"save my own ass, screw these guys"
smoke and mirror lock down

Broadcast me a joyful noise unto the times, lord,
Count your blessings.
the papers wouldn't lie!
I sigh. Not one more

Its been a bad day.
Please dont take a picture
Its been a bad day.
Please

We're dug in the deep the price is steep.
The auctioneer is such a creep.
The lights went out, the oil ran dry
We blamed it on the other guy
Sure, all men are created equal.
Heres the church, heres the steeple
Please stay tuned--we cut to sequel
ashes, ashes, we all fall down.

Broadcast me a joyful noise unto the times, lord, Count your blessings.
Ebrace the lowest fear/Ignore the lower fears
Ugh, this means war.

Its been a bad day.
Br.

Broadcast me a joyful noise unto the times, lord,
Count your blessings.
We're sick of being jerked around
We all fall down.

Its been a bad day...
Pleaase...
Shine on you Crazy Diamond

It was a flippant cry at the media for having violated every aspect of his life. He juxtaposed that metaphor with a slightly bastardised version of the Smells Like Teen Spirit riff, the very thing that propelled him to fame.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Well it was on its most basic level an anti-rape song, like Polly. He was responding to the people who raped someone whilst listening to Polly. But the verses fit that "Fuck off mass media" thing and not the anti-rape message.
