I saw them with Broadway Calls in Phoenix a little while ago. They rule live. Too bad they're from Europe though.

I swa these guys the last time they toured here earlier this year. Damn good band.

What's wrong with being from Europe?

I back this band so ****ing hard, got the 'Undercurrents' 7" earlier this year and they really do own so hard. Plus, if you're signed to D&G I think that instantly gets you plus points.

Beneath the Surface and AZ Underground

That place is gonna get shut down so fast.

We're giving it another month.
#19
Oh my god it's like a garage! Someone's gonna die in there sometime. Where are you from in Arizona?

EDIT: Nevermind
#20
It's not so much the safety thats the issue, but the way they run the place.

I went to a show there last night, they only had one mic and no mic cords. They upped the cost to get in last minute. The flier said $6 and they were charging $8, which is a bit outrageous. Also, week before the show, they asked Blues to give them a $200 deposit. If the guy expects to run a successful venue, he's got a lot of improvements to make. There are other places that are much easier for promoters to deal with, so why bother with AZ Underground?

Plus, that guy is a total dick.

Yeah it sucks so much balls.

It's the worst venue in AZ.
That guy charges 10 bucks for local bands. It's ridiculous.
I'm trying to book Skare Tactic there though, but I doubt it'll happen.

True that. Dude when we played with So I Shot Him, they were supposed to get 200 bucks and they made 50!

I'll not be going back to that venue any time soon. Theres so many better places to play or see a show. I know that Skrappy's isn't doing anything as of late, but there's still the Living Room and the Gnarwhal House.
#28
The Living Room has been doing shows for quite awhile. They do some pretty good hardcore ones. Plus, I often work the door, so I get in free.

Gnarwhal House isn't really a venue. It's a house, but they have some really fun shows there, too. Blues (amazing Tucson local) and Architect will be playing there on November 11th.

One of my other favorite Tucson venues is Dry River. It's an anarchist commune, so shows run on donations. They don't get hardcore shows, but if you're like me, you don't only listen to hardcore. Also, next door to Dry River is this big room where they've started having shows at as well, although I don't think that has a name yet. http://www.myspace.com/dryrivertucson

And I'm an art fag, so I love Solar Culture.

Gnawhal House shows are so fun. Aren't Shook Ones and Pulling Teeth playing at Skrappys?

As of now, Skrappy's isn't having any shows. They're in the middle of moving venues. They don't have a permanent location yet. I think all of their shows are being moved to either the Living Room or Gnarwhal House. Look out for what it'll say.

Seriously, get Frightener's tracks off their MySpace and learn their lyrics, give them a warm welcome. One of the best, if not THE best, band coming out of the UK right now.

Yeah sam left that on my Myspace, haha. For some weird reason I thought it was at the new Skrappys but I guess now. I like Frightener! I got their split they did with Pulling Teeth. I'm super stoked on Shook Ones and Pulling Teeth though. I missed Pulling Teeth the last time they came and i've never seen Shook Ones. It's going to be an all star show!

Good thing that noone caught my mistake.
I'm seeing Broadway Calls and Set Your Goals.

We know the same people. You should go to that one, and I better see you at Gaza, Blues and Architect on Saturday.

The Living Room is tits, I only went everyonce in a while because I live in Phoenix. I honestly didn't really dig Skrappy's when I went though. I hate the Clubhouse the most though, even more so than I did the Mason Jar.
#39
I think Skrappy's was too big and I wasn't feeling the stage. I like floor shows. The only problem with floor shows is that if you're short like me, and you're not in the very front, it sucks. But I'm always up front.

I love the Living Room. And on your end, I love Modified. But I'm a hipster. It happens. Heavy music is my guilty pleasure. Don't tell the indies.
#40
I love the Modified although im not a hipster by any means. I don't even really mind the Phix all that much.
