Or at least get it to ring our clearly. I'm talking about the first barre chord, so if you tried and finally got it to ring out clearly, but couldn't afterwards, that still counts. I think from the time that my guitar teacher first showed me a barre chord, which was maybe two weeks after I first started playing guitar, it took me about three or four days of pretty consistent practice to play my first barre chord clearly, with all the strings ringing out (it was a G chord).

Took a while to get that Fmin chord to ring out clearly and swiftly when I was first starting out. It was one of the techniques that took me longer than usual to get, can make you wanna quit playing out of frustration, and one of the techniques that, once mastered, becomes a milestone achievement in your playing, e.g. alternate picking and sweep picking.

A couple of days. First song i learnt showed the chords in barre chords, so not long.
It's gonna be a blue day

It took me about a month. I could do barre chords the first week I tried, but I couldn't do them effortlessly until after a month or so.

From the time I started learning them, took me probably a week to master them. From the time I began learning guitar, it took me probably a few months.

Three weeks before I could play G Barre chord. A lot longer for F.

I was on acoustic, too though.

My index finger has a tiny dip in it, so the g string is forever muted, no matter what I do. Sometimes it does work though lol.

when my teacher taught them to me, he explained them, and it took a few goes, gut then i started getting every note to sound in that same lesson, but not every time, after a coyple of days they were perfect,

Has anyone got any tips to get the perfect F barre chord? I can do it on an electric but not on an acoustic. And i am practicing!
#35
I took maybe about 2 weeks.. Its hard to remember, but I was playing a classical guitar. I think it was an Am chord I barred. I still can't barre an E chord on a classical guitar, but I can on my electric.
#37
Took me a few months to get used to barre chords....

But now i can play pretty much any barre chord without any problem....

just keep practicing, on my acoustic its harder cos the strings are tighter, but if you keep practicing then your finger gets stronger,
also, it could be hard because your in frett 1 if you play there, so try frett 9 on the A string

Took me a couple of days to get the basic shape, then another day or two to get every string ringing out clearly.
