My pc monitor exploded while my mum was using it the other day *claps for her*
The pc in question has a card with tv out in it
There is a video out, like the cable for games consoles/dvd players etc (i think its called rca; the one with yellow for video, red & white for audio)
When I put the video in the back of the telly, SOMETHING happens, like it is getting a signal but the pc is still looking for a normal monitor instead, and when I plug another monitor in the picture comes up on it.
Bearing in mind I have windows 98, how do I switch to the telly?
I'm so unique I don't even have a sig.

I think you have to go somewhere on the controlpanel and just switch...

Yeah, your compy is probably still sending its output out the monitor jack. Go to Control Panel and poke around, you should probably find what you need.

just a small thing....It's not worth it using the TV, resolution is always wierdo and you have to arrange your pc to stand in the same room as the TV... crowded and lots of"tripwires"

The resolution was probably too high for the TV screen, also. Standard TVs can only usually go to 640x480

But how the hell are you doing this, or do you intend to change settings, without having a monitor?!?!?

I learned that there are easy ways to waste your life away when all you have is a computer and a world full of people putting new and interesting things on their boners.

Wow, I've been here for a while.

so you have an S-video out on your PC....run that to your TV set
then run a line out the sound card to some RCA wire and run that to the TV as well.
you could also convert the s-video to a standard RCA in yellow for video.

+1; that's how my brother and I watch movies that are on our laptops. Although mine has a problem with showing videos.

You should probably just invest in a new monitor. The resolution on TVs kinda suck(with the exception of full screen video though).
