so, i recently picked up an Epi Black Beauty w/ Gold Hardware in which i'm looking to change out the Rhythm pickup, i have another Les Paul copy that i put a Gibson Burstbucker Pro in which i'm going to swap, problem is it's silver, I know changing the plates SHOULDN'T really be an issue, but what about the pot-poles? i'd like to keep the gold look all over if possible, the PU's in it are a little too muddy/not full for my tastes

to take off a cover on a humbucker (i assume thats waht ur asking), u need to first desolder the back. those solders are hard as orihalcon. but after that, it shouldn't be too bad taking it off.

GFS is full of ****. if u want the real PAF tone, go for a boutique set. although GFS is good, in terms of sound, but GuitarFetish lie about the specs a lot. it is a good set, well worth the $$$, but it doesn't sound vintage, since no vintage specs are used.

no vintage, but when did he say he wanted the vintage sound

and pesonally, i would prefer to get a good pickup for 26 dollard than a cover for a sucky pickup at 23 dollars

he didn't. but when did he say he doesn't?

did u hear that GFS are good pickups and the advertisement was right about the vintage sound? or did u hear GFS are just overall good pickups?

and TS, do u have your pickup height adjusted? not overly high or extremely low? cuz putting it high loses the high end response.
