I'm playing a small gig at a small local party, and I don't much feel like tuning up on "stage" . So I've decided to play all my songs in drop D because I wanna end with my band's cover of "Killing in the Name". I need one song to play just before that is in drop D. Any suggestions would be nice.

Thanks for the input, and yes, the whammy does make the song, I think I'm gonna end up playing Moby Dick. The drummer really is the most talented member of the band. Lamb of God sounded nice, but our singer can't pull out the voice

you might as well do another RATM song, or some band similar to them.

Lamb of god + rage just doesnt seem right...

It is so easy to go from standard to D. Pluck your D string and E string at the same time, and bring your E string down till you hit the note.

You can play most songs that are in standard in drop D if you just move the power chords a half step higher. Unless you play alot more than power chords and stuff.

exactly... Its one string.

As for Drop D songs, Well you probably wouldnt like them but the ones I play are usually from Silverstein. I like drop C better.
