I need an amp that that is good for heavy metal with lots of distortion and great tone. It needs to be loud enough to gig with and under $400. Solid state or tube, no digital amps. I hate my Line 6 Spider II. Please help me out UG.

It's going to be really hard to find an amp for metal that is heavy with great tone, and is loud enough to gig with for 400$.... i say save your money...

save up a couple hundred more and get a randall RG50TC tube combo + an mxr 10 band EQ. place the eq in the loop and drop some mids, add some treble, and you have a killer metal amp on a budget. its exactly what i have (although I have the head not the combo) and it sounds amazing considering how much I payed for it
