Recently bought 80 gig Classic, I was all excited to watch movies on my Ipod, but lo and behold, I'm totally ****ed unless I want to pay $15 to download movies I already own on DVD!

I looked for DVD converter programs, and found that "HandBrake" was highly recommended, but when I use it it tells me:

"No titles found, please make sure you are using a non-copy-protected source"

Aren't all DVDs copy protected? Isn't that the point of the program?

Why can you rip CDs but not DVDs?

PLEASE HELP

www.videora.com

You will have to get a decrypter. Everything is explained there. I used it, and it worked fine. But I recommend ripping the DVD by each chapter. Create a playlist on the iPod for each movie.

So as well as an iPod, iTunes, and a converter, I need a decypter?

Thanks, I'll look into this, but I still think this whole thing is insane.

Yes, but that's it. At first it seems complicated, but they have steps to guide you along the way.

Alright, this seems pretty straightforward now, I'm decrypting (slowly) as we speak.

Thanks, I'll let you know if it works

^For some reason iTunes does that when you try to convert a video file using their software.
You'd probably be better off just downloading the movie off of some sort of peer-to-peer service than trying to convert it. You can often find them already formated for iPods.
If you could blow up the world with a flick of a switch,
Would you do it?

If you could make everybody poor just so you could be rich,
Would you do it?

With all your power,
What would you do?

Yeah, but I didn't use iTunes, I used that software that madcap recommended.

Even better and more simple, use SUPER
Can convert between almost every codec... My brother uses it for his ipod, same one you have, 160 GB though, but the model is the same, so you shouln't face any problems...
