I'm listening to Sunrise right now, it sounds pretty cool. The snare drums on CF part 3 and 5 were kind of annoying.

They're OK, but not something I would listen to a lot.

Meshuggah rip-off

With ten times more skills than you'll ever have

Obviously they're very much influenced by Meshugga but that doesn't mean they're rip offs. Its not like Meshugga has dibs on low tuned chuggage

aye, but they're about 10 times as good as meshuggah
good band.

i reckon their nothing like meshuggah, sure they use polymeters but their softer not as harsh and brutal as meshuggah. i love them for their creativity putting polymeter and a kind of prog post rock vibe

i was kind of biased when i made that statement, i had only heard certain parts of the concealing fate songs that used those melodic 9ths(dont know another way to describe them), so i just passed them off as meshuggah wannabes. But on a recent listen i saw how they are creative and different in their own way, and their music is pretty cool.

I adore Tesseract. Concealing Fate pt. 1 is constantly playing - they are able to conjure up a simply astounding ambience. Good on 'em. Their Facebook page also informs me the album will be out early next year, along with a tour.

I'd listen to them over Meshuggah any day.

Their vocalist sounds a bit like the guy from Alterbridge.

Yeah, they said it should come out in the next few months. Originally it was just going to be concealing fate EP but they have enough material for a full length so that's what they're gonna do.

They should be signed. The guitarist who writes and records all their stuff just got signed with his other band FELLSILENT. Basically a faster thrashier version of Tesseract. Both amazing.

I wish I've seen them live

I keep pretty well up to date on their website and official site. And the guitarist who writes and records everything (Acle) has an account over on the harmony central forums.

To be honest I think if it was ripping off meshuggah then this quote would never have happened > Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah) "Nice tone!!! All the demos you've uploaded on the Toontrack forum are amazing!!!" ... soo yeah, research your ****, just because something is in the same style doesn't mean its a rip off.

to be fair it's a simple mistake, meshuggah are THE band that really made that style of music known. so it is a simple misconception that every one does.

True Meshuggah can be very monotonous, but to be fair Tesseract doesn't have as many songs.

Much as I love 'em, I'll be the first to say they are very similar to a particular Swedish band noted for extensive use of polymetrics.

Figure of speech. As in if someone asks 10 people about TesseracT, I'll be the first to say that they have a mahoosive 'shuggah influence

I forget you lot don't use our good ol' British expressions, sometimes, sawie.

I know what you meant, twas pulling fun.

Yes, I would also say they have a definite 'shuggah influence, but I really like what they do with it, and with work, I think they could definitely define a style that is entirely their own.
