For some reason all of my songs pertain to some kind of war or battle. This one is really no different, except it would probably be more of a focus on refugees trying to get away from the country in which the fighting is taking place.

Our motives unclear
Voices echoing with something less than sincere
Did we really get this far?
You look on with cheer
Overriding your fear
Remembering my promise your skin would go unmarred
The music I hear
Indicates that we're near
But damn if we aren't so far

We have come to far to turn back now
The answers still beyond our reach
If they thought we would leave now
Then we still have a lesson to teach

I see the fire burning in your eyes
And I know you feel it well up inside
Maybe tomorrow will bring something new
Don't worry I know you tried
There's no reason to cry
There was nothing you could do

I'd say we're due
Wouldn't you
Time our work paid off
Time our reputations drop
I'd say we're due
Wouldn't you
Time our work paid off
Time we took stock of all we've lost
I'd say we're due
Wouldn't you
Time our work paid off
Time all of this just stopped

We have come to far to turn back now
The answers still beyond our reach
If they thought that we'd turn back now
Then we still have a lesson to teach

The only thing that mattered was our destination
No time for leisure, thought, or procrastination
And as the end drew near
And we thought of everything we held dear
Finally the cause became so clear
And we found the will to carry on
The weeks turning into days
Melding into one violent haze
Constantly on the brink of becoming crazed
Then just like that it was gone

And now with times of strife and battle in the past
Out of those reared in war and death who will last
