Take the serial code and put it into the database thing on Fender's site

EDIT - http://www.fender.com/support/usa_instruments.php

If you look there, that guitar seems to be an american and made in 2002 or 2003

According to the serial number it's a 2002 American stratocaster.

http://www.chrisguitars.com/fen01strat-usa-bk+chrome6.jpg

This is the serial from an '01 and according to http://www.provide.net/~cfh/fender.html#serial the prefix Z2 was used only in 2002, although there could be a small period in 2003 when they used the Z2 serial numbers.
You've read it, you can't un-read it!

i say buy it anyway. its a great price for it if it is american OR its a mexican.... which i doubt cuz a fake vintage paint job with prints would cost almost as much as hes askingfor it. so yes.... i think yoyu should buy it.

It was made in 2002. Thats all i got from the fender website.

$400 is cheap but not outrageously so, so the price shouldnt make you think its fake. and its probably not fake because faking standard american strats isnt that worthwhile.
my name is matt. you can call me that if you like.

I don't like strats, but at that price I would buy and resell if it's legit.

I think that's the Highway One strat. I remember the older ones had 6-point trem and that transparent teal finish. The Highway Ones were changed a bit last year I think, and might not have the same finish anymore. But they're USA made with that color and hardware. I'd say this guitar is legit.
