i have a strat that i want to repaint and create a bigger bridge cavity
all i want is the bridge cavity and a volume knob

right now i have 3 single coils a volume, and a tone knob, and a 5 way switch
is there any way i can pull out the unwanted things and cover them up so i can repaint my guitar body.

...do you mean a bigger bridge pickup cavity? As in switch it from 3 single coils with vol., tone, tone, and a 5-way switch to one bridge humbucker and a volume knob?

You wouldn't have to fill any holes, just buy a new pickguard with holes for one humbucker and one volume knob.

If you have any woodworking skills, get masking tape and make a rectangular outline around the holes you want to cover and route a nice rectangle, then get a piece of wood and cut it to the depth, length, and width of the cavity and glue it in. Use a mix of wood glue and sawdust to fill the seams. Make sure the block fits TIGHTLY before you glue it in. I use this technique to fill tremolo cavities for people who want to convert to hard-tail bridges.
