eh....DC doesn't have that great of shows, actually. Back in the 80s it was hoppin' but now it's not. Most of the bands on that list are dead now anyways

From here we have:

Unwritten Law(terrible, everyone loves them though...)
As I Lay Dying
Carnifex
Burning the Masses
Ends With an Enemy

those are all from the county, nothing too great from my town
#9
Between the Buried and Me (yeah, that's right, **** you guys)
The Lineage
Knives Exchanging Hands

Our scene's died down a bit, but check out the Lineage. They're re-recorded and writing new material all the time- I'm good friends with the vocalist and I know the rest of the guys. Solid group.

^I'm not sure if I like them. Judging from the songs on their myspace all the choruses bug. They get way too poppy. But i like the instrumentation and most of the vocals.

Edit: I'm enjoying it. can anyone send me some stuff by them?

Yeah that's how I was too. I liked the verses and stuff but the chorus was kind of like meh to me but I still like them alot.

theres a hardcore band at my school

www.myspace.com/evelynclose

check em out, there older stuff was wayy better

I don't respect bands with mainly dissonance as most of their chords. That's all that one guitarist plays for the first minute of the first song.

I know what you're saying, but whilst that is happening, the dude is running around the shop going crazy.

Their newer songs are very much show oriented, more than the recorded listening.

Check out Jack the Stripper in their top friends, I rate that band.

Big Rig - Great guys.
Speak of the End - More great dudes
The Showdown
Whitechapel
A Different Breed of Killer - Just signed to Rise

I LOVE The Showdown, but Big Rig kinda sucks. They played in Salisbury, MD where Im from with The Showdown and they were just terrible.

Lets see.. Amen. The Animal , I Am Not I Am , Aborted Existence, and Only to Persevere (sans vocals) would be the best from my area.

That's cool, man. I wasn't aware they ever toured that far north. How long ago did you see them?

It was back at the beginning of this summer, when the Showdown was touring with Showbread. God, I hate showbread. They've played here in MD like 4 times in the past year. They're like a bad rash that won't go away.

But when they came with the Showdown, I flipped out, cuz The Showdown is one of my favorite bands. And they put on one hell of a show.
