Well..i sold all of my guitars and bought a 5150 BLOCK (getting the cab soon) and i realized i only have my lame little single coil strat.

I'm wondering if i should put some Hot rails on it, or should i go for a new guitar but the strat isn't to bad for now untill i can afford something decent.

Only thing with a new guitar is that i really dont wana sell my 4-wheeler but if i get a new guitar i will have to sence i only have enough for a cab + bout $200.

And wouldnt i just need 1 hot rail? no need for 3 of the same?

or are there better singles that sound more like a hum? ( I play metal)

I really dont know to much about getting pu changed ive never had it done (1st time for everything i guess )

thanks

Although this doesn't really answer your question, if you have an awesome amp, you don't really need "hot" pick-ups to get a good sound. Go to a local dealer, and try to demo a guitar with those pick-ups, and play it through the one of the store's 5150s. Then try a standard HSS or SSS.

oh lol. yea if its an HSS strat u could probably get a higher output pickup for higher gain i suppose just make sure it isn't too noisy
