which pickups are better for a standard stratocaster: fender vintage noiseless pickups or lace sensor gold pickups? im planning on buying a mexican strat and adding one of these and just wanted to hear some opinions.

don't think of pickups before you play the stock ones.

What music do you play?

But i have heard that the fender noisless one's are rubbish!

Id say the Laces, but i kinda like the Mexi strats. thru a tube amp, i can get John Frusciates straight clean tone w/out the studio eq, and can also get some good mid-gain crunch. The Laces are good for classic Strat cleans, but im inclined to think the Mexi Strat pickups are excellent for almost anything but extreme resonator bends and Metal. and most ppl think having noiseless p/ups isnt a good trade-off for lifeless tone.

i play blues and rock like eric clapton, bb king, SRV, jimi hendrix, s n roses, van halen, stuff like that
#8
More importantly, what amp do you use?

My vintage noiseless set sucks, and I'm currently looking to order some cheap GFS pickups...they're that tasteless and toneless.
