Ive got a cheap fender lookalike at home.... it was working fine for a while.... now i fing that wen i go beyond the twelfth fret on the "e"(1) string, the notes are very screechy... i thought changing the strings was an option.... so i did that but there wasnt any difference.... any suggestions besides buying a new one???? ty

either raise the action or lower the bridge.

adjust or change your pickups. it would probably only take some tinkering with pickup height. if it still does it change the pickups.

first picture is a single coil. its really not a hard process.. just turn the screws
