Should I order the Randall RX120DHS 120 W Half Stack from Musiciansfriend.com? would it be worth it and would I be pleased with it? my local music store didn't have much of a selection.

For that much you could buy the RG50TC combo which will be a MUCH better amp.

What's your budget and what styles do you play? (guessing metal?)

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Amps around that price that would be a much better buy are the Randall as I said, a B-52 AT-112 or 212 or a Peavey Valveking.

If you're willing to look used, you open up a lot more options.

Lastly, you don't need a halfstack.

Randall RG50TC or B-52. the valveking kinda sucks. if you are disposed to change a speaker when you recieve it, get the valveking, if not, get the other two

"would I be pleased with it?"
Most relative question...ever.
But yeah, these guys are right. Unless your gigging pretty heavily in large venues, you won't need a halfstack. Personally, I always look used before I consider new anything.

playing by yourself is like masturbating, sure it feels great, but it's nothing compared to the real deal.

I've never used a tube amp before. Do I need to know anything special about em?

not really- most you have to flip a "power" switch, then wait 1 min, then flip a "standby" switch to turn it on, and valves can blow- but so can transistors in a SS amp.
You usually swap valves out after 2 years or so depending on useage.
