I did a quick search and found nothing...

It's quite obvious that we don't stay young forever. Our joints stiffen and our muscles deplete. This means that we won't be able to play guitar eventually. So, UG... the question is. What do you think you'll probably do with your guitar when you get too old to play it?

1. Probably sell it - ... meaning you sell it...
2. Probably hand it down - to a child, niece/nephew etc.
3. Probably give it to someone who needs it - For someone who can't afford a guitar other than family
4. Probably smash it - "If I can't play it, no one can!"

i would sell it, becos i do not want to be haunted for the rest of my life by that guitar

My guitars will be taken apart, and then a part from each guitar will be used to fashion a brand new guitar. A miraculous guitar.. The finest guitar the world has ever seen.

Then I'll use it for firewood, because I plan on being a hobo when I reach the age of eighty.

I love you =] I can't say I was very fond of you when we first started talking because you trolled the hell out of my threads, but after talking to you here I've grown very attached to you.

Yeah, write to my fanclub about it, honey.

Snap it in half and throw it away. If I cant play it no none can.
My stuff:
Gibson SG (for playability.......and looks)
Mexican Strat (for some reason i have two)
Hohner HW440G-TB Acoustic/Electric

the only thing that will really stop you playing is arthritis of the fingers......and assuming i dont get that, ill never stop playing.
#17
realistically though.... if you're 80 something and you get a life altering disease... what would be in your will? we all can't last forever. so after you die, where is your guitar going to go i guess is a better question.

i think that when i cant play i going to keep the guitar hanging on the wall

Hang on. If you can't play guitar, then how are you going to smash it? Surely smashing it takes more out of you than playing the thing.

I've got a mental image of Mr. Burns trying to smash a guitar, and falling over now.

Id teach my grandchild to play if my son hasnt already, I also plan to teach my children...
