Hey,
I'm going to be buying an HBE Germania treble/gain booster preamp (rangemaster clone) from another UG member, and since i'm new to pedals, I was wondering if it'd be a good combonation for my strat and my peavey classic 50.
Thanks!

Well, since i'd be cranking it (with a weber mass attenuator), and a set of fairly-low output strat pups, and since the classics have EL84 power tubes, I would assume it'd be trebly.
What kind of tone would this give me? Someone in the store where I bought the peavey classic said if I cranked it with the right settings and guitar, I could get kind of a dominoes-era clapton tone. I wanted to know if this was true.
