For me it's "Annihilation of the Wicked" by Nile. Absolutely brutal and ridiculously good guitar work. How about you guys?
Emo is to music as etch-a-sketch is to art.

Music can't really be judged, since it's all on the same level. Unless it's screamo. then it sucks.

It's a draw between Shadows Are Security by As I Lay Dying and The Awakening by Caliban.

Wow, there are so many non-metal bands being mentioned, but some people don't consider Shadows Fall metal anymore, so I'm not gonna be hypocritical. Their album "Of One Blood" was definitely metal, and I can't get enough of it: Beautiful cleans intermingled with brutal death grunts as well as touching accoustic parts followed by crushing guitar riffs and amazing solos. Their album "The Art of Balance" is where they first did a metalcore song, but that Album is by far my favorite of all time, the vocals are more powerful, and the recording quality is better, and the drums are a bit cleaner, though a touch staler on the toms, but much better on the double bass.

Annihilation of the Wicked always gives me a boner too, great album.
Train of Thought by Dream Theater is a popular one w/ me too.

EDIT: How could I forget the DETHALBUM?
If you see me in the pit, know that I'm only there because the metal forum is moving slowly.
