I am looking to upgrade my pups on my kramer focus 6000. I have narrowed it down to these two pickups. I play mostly 80's, EVH, blues. I need a versatile pickup. Wanted some opinions.

What amp do you have?

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

IMO neither of those pickups are really that versatile, they are both very hot. I'd say the Evo is better versatility wise than the TZ, but not that much.

I'm thinking about this too. I'm heading towards Dimarzio Evo's. I'm not sure what amp to go with though. I play mostly metal/power metal - Blind Guardian/DragonForce etc. Any recommendations?

SamEDIT : For £150-£200

Fender Stratocaster in Red.

It's all I need.

Tone Zone's sound an infinite amount better than Evo's in my opinion. If you want a really versitale pickup, get the Duncan Jazz (It doesnt do Jazz, lol).
