I've been playing for 4 years but never really done this that much.

When I do do it, I use my whole arm to get it real fast. Now I've read you're supposed to tremello pick with your wrist, so should I learn that way?

Just wondering what people here do.

When I use my wrist it's so pathetic, but I like to do things properly.

Cheers.

well, if you master using your wrist, the speed will improve, and you'll be able to do so much more. i'd get out of the habit of using your arm. it makes you tense, and being tense when you play will only inhibit you from playing what you want. just try to reduce overall motion of your picking hand as much as possible.

Use your wrist for proper technique.
