I can play Smells like teen spirit now, its not to hard so I`m at least happy.

So now that I can do that what should I do next?

and I have been using an acoustic for about 4 months, when should I get an electric?

I like the acoustic, so I will definitally still use it!~

if you want an electric, get one if you like, but still use the acoustic! you will have gained some finger strength now so electric should be a bit easier
#3
I started off playing electric, so it doesn't matter when you get one.

Learn some Ramones songs. "I Don't Want To Grow Up" has a pretty simple solo and very simple riffs.

Just remember punk = happiness.

get an electric whenever you have the money i would say. However it's not essential.

and jst try to learn a new song, maybe something a bit more difficult. oh and try to learn some theory, always helps!

learn a couple more songs on your acoustic, make sure you get the RIGHT electric for your needs (aka ask UG first), bathe yourself in theory and never actually stop playing acoustic... it's so good for finger strength

Smells Like Teen Spirit, eh? is it weird that i never learned that song?

Yes it is. Learn it now. Just for the sake of knowing it, it's an unwritten law that all guitarists must know it.

Smells Like Teen Spirirt is simply an awesome song, and a great first song to learn. Good job . I still have fun playing that song.

You could start learning some songs that just use chords and play along to the song. Rockstar by Nickelback is fun and easy, and it's fun to play along to a song like that when you start out. Just start out learning the chords, then put them together.

Take it Easy by the eagles. just the chords. it's great practice for them. Good Riddance by Green Day is good as well for arpeggiating chords.

Yeah, well, I can play Entombment of a Machine by Job For a Cowboy...oh, wait, you weren't trying to show off....sorry.

Some good ones that are pretty easy would be; Forever-As I Lay Dying, pretty much any Coal Chamber, A Favor House Atlantic-Coheed and Cambria, Now Is The Time-Hatebreed, almost any Kittie, Heavens a Lie-Lacuna Coil, much of Marilyn Manson's music, all Murderdolls, and most Rammstein. Sorry if that list's a little confusing, I just went through my media library and found some simple ones.
